Green snare, who?!
The Chiefy lobster snare is far more superior than the standard green snare. The smooth pull of the monofilament VS the cable wire is a very nice upgrade, as well as the lock on/lock off feature and ease of the orange thumb release. And bonus feature of a strong but lightweight aluminum design with a beautiful color combo makes it easy to spot underwater if lost. Proud Chiefy Snare owner!
The first impression I had with Life League Gear is the amazing Service Excellence I received. I sent a message, from the website, with a question; within less than an hour, the owner, Vinny, replied. He answered my question and was willing to accommodate me, personally, on a Saturday, although their business hours are Monday - Friday...exceptional service!
I purchased the Chiefy, commercial w/Black monofilament. Very sturdy and well crafted. I have used other lobster snares, at the same price point, that seemed sturdy but could not handle the vigorous work we put them through. I have not used the Chiefy yet, as it is December but cannot wait to use it this summer when lobster season opens. I have no doubt it will perform exactly as I expect it to, if not exceedingly better.

Aluminum Lobster Snare
The wire is too weak and will not stay in place but fold up rather than holding its form. So after writing a not great review, they reached out and offered to fix the problem. Outstanding customer service by Vinnie, i believe is the owner. Definitely recommend working with these guys.
Hello Thomas. Call us anytime. The beauty of our snare is you can change the loop. We offer three types of loops. Send it in or come by and try our options if no luck with your current setup. We will walk you through what's best for you based on how you prefer to lobster. Our two mono and one steel wire all have their specific uses. The wire is more for snorkeling and overhead catches. It is also more floppy on the site. The mono can be molded with heat and has more of a 90 degree loop. Call us anytime and we will make it right for you ~ Vinny
Lobster season is just around the corner and I cannot wait to get my new snare. I have seen it in action and I have no doubt it will be the best snare out there. I am excited about the aluminum construction (light and strong), the locking mechanism, the longer shaft and orange is one of my favorite colors. Is it mini-season yet?
